Our New Grad!

We spent the past weekend celebrating Elise's high school graduation with family and friends.  Here is a recap of the celebration which starts out with a bit of bragging -

The following is a profile of Elise's academic acheivements:

Elise graduated from Mooresville Senior High School with honors on June 12, 2010. During her high school career, Elise has been awarded certificates of Academic Excellence for each of the four years. These awards have paved the way for her entry into the National Honor Society and the MHS Beta Club. Elise has enjoyed studying the Spanish language and has been a member of the MHS Spanish Club as well as President of the MHS Spanish Honor Society. After her junior year, Elise was awarded the designation of AP Scholar by the College Board AP for her work in Advanced Placement courses. As a senior, Elise earned highest honors in AP English.

For the past three years Elise has been a competitive member of the MHS Mock Trial Team. During this time she has won numerous individual awards for her work which include Best Attorney and Best Witness at both the regional and state levels awarded by North Carolina Advocates for Justice.

This fall, Elise will be attending The First Year College at North Carolina State University where she has also been accepted into the University Scholars Program. While at NCSU, Elise plans to study Business, Communications and Spanish.

This is the handshake that Elise has looked forward to all year!

Elise's senior year was very exciting for us all.  The daily trip to the mailbox was always filled with anticipation.  There were many wonderful invitations for Elise at various universities but there was only one invitation that she really wanted:

An invitation to NC State

"The Big Envelope"
 finally came in mid December!

From this point forward, it was just a matter of wrapping up the senior year of high school which she did beautifully.

As Graduation approached, Elise participated in several special ceremonies to celebrate her upcoming graduation.  One of these celebrations was held at our church where we were honored with a wonderful lunch with all of the grandparents.

Elise received wonderfully generous gifts from her grandparents on this day.

Next Stop:  NC State!
